3/26/08 Work on your demonstration speech for next week. Vocab Unit 13 will be due April 2 (Wed.) Follow your syllabus for TKM.  Read ahead if you have time. Chapters 11-15 should be read by Friday.
3/27/08 Worksheets on ordering speech and intros due tomorrow.

Vocab Unit 13 due April 2

Read chapters 11-15 and answer questions/vocab.

Reading journal check over first two sections (You have had these questions since before Spring Break. I will be checking that they are done.)

Make sure you have book and all supplies with you in class. You cannot leave class to get missing work or supplies!

Worksheet on speech due Monday.

Speeches start MONDAY. If you were notified, please come prepared to do your speech. Points will be deducted if you are not ready to go.

This is your weekend to catch up/rest before next week!

Questions for 11-15 are due Monday

Look at your syllabus --a collage on you is due April 7 and you have a quiz on Monday over chapters 6-15. This will include vocabulary from your questions.

Reading chapters start again Monday.

Have your TKM Themes frame ready for tomorrow. You should have at least 3 themes with at least 2 supporting points for each theme. If you can do more, great!

You need to start your Character frames with the following 4 characters: Scout, Atticus, Jem and Dill. Remember for your supporting points, there should NOT be just adjectives describing characters, but events from the story that describe characteristics of the character.

We will continue these in class. You should have 2 points for each character.

For example, under Jem's name you may put loosing pants at Radley house.

 

4/9/08 U 14 Vocab due tomorrow

Final Speeches:

Jimmy Clark will present in 2nd hour; Danny Reazin will present in 3rd hour

Rough draft of Woodman speech due. It should be typed for peer editing. Final copies are due Friday. You each received a handout to help clarify what we have talked about since Spring Break.

4/5th hour: No homework. You started your assignment last night

You need to finish the book by Monday. With confirmation this weekend, please consider reading in advance!

4/11/08 U 15 vocab due Wednesday.

Vocab and spelling test on Thursday.

We will continue presenting Woodman speeches next week.

Finish reading the book TKM.  You will receive questions over the readings on Monday.

Unit final test is scheduled for Thursday.

We will continue to do speeches in class as well as check vocab

Start studying for TKM Final. You will receive final study guide tomorrow.

Extra credit paper assignment will be due WEDNESDAY. You need to compare the book and the movie, focusing on the differences. This should be roughly 500 + words or at least 1 1/2 pages. You will not be able to list all differences, but pick out your tip 4-5 and focus on them.

Study guides will go out the end of this week for finals.
